To support, inspire and stimulate the new generation of musical talent. That is the goal of The Bierens Foundation of Arts.
We strongly believe that musical development should be stimulated from an early age. Because it is at that young age when the seed should be planted! At that stage, the development of the child's brain is in full swing and the love for classical music and musical can blossom optimally, to grow into a permanent part of a person’s life. This is how not only the new generation of professional and amateur musicians is born and raised, but also the theatre and concertgoers of classical music and musicals.

Preserving Musical Cultural Heritage
The Bierens Foundation of Arts strives to bridge the gap between our rich musical tradition and the challenges of modern times. In doing so, we aspire to halt the demise we see in the classical music sector in particular. By guiding talented young musicians in their artistic development, we can make a lasting impact on both the cultural sector and society.
We see that music has the power to enhance creativity and provides social connection. Be it classical music or musicals. Moreover, scientific research shows that music has a positive influence on brain function. With our initiatives for young musicians and music lovers we wish to contribute to the growth of classical music and musicals in the Netherlands and abroad in order to preserve this beautiful cultural heritage for future generations.
The origins of The Bierens Foundation of Arts
The idea to inspire and support young, talented musicians originated with Sander and Wilma Bierens in early 2024.
Soprano Wilma Bierens was born in Maastricht and grew up in the heart of South Limburg, the Netherlands, a region that is impossible to imagine without music. Choirs, harmonies, and brass bands flourished everywhere, and music resounded from every street corner. This rich musical environment not only brought deep social connection, but also an inexhaustible source of inspiration. From an early age, her life has been a journey of impressive productions and unforgettable concerts. A musical richness that has enriched her life in an irreplaceable way, is her deep conviction.
Sander Bierens is owner of Bierens Collection Lawyers and has been involved in sponsorship within the cultural sector for decades. By organizing concerts and theatre performances for young talent, but also by sponsoring many cultural institutions.
